About Neptune Restaurant
Neptune Restaurant Group founded in 1997, is known for its unique cuisine and abalone in the greater Vancouver area. Neptune seafood restaurant was a member of the French le cordon bleu commando team and has won various awards, such as the Vancouver top 10 Chinese restaurant awards. Neptune restaurant strives to design a special theme menu for different festivals, through which Neptune restaurant will be built into a perfect restaurant that always meets customers’ needs.
The Neptune Wonton Noodle
The Neptune Wonton Noodle we visited is one of its restaurants. It is located in a restaurant located in Station Square, near Metrotown’s Metropolis. Its location is very superior. It is only five minutes’ walk from the nearest sky station and bus station, and there is an underground parking lot nearby. Therefore, it is very convenient for customers to come to the restaurant by crown-block, bus or car.
The Theme, Atmosphere, and Decor
Its main theme is Cantonese morning tea. Eating morning tea is a pleasant pastime and a unique family pastime in the minds of Cantonese. The significance of morning tea lies not only in the food but also in the happiness of the family getting together to talk about their daily life. It is also a representative of slow life in today’s fast-paced era. Therefore, the warm and lively atmosphere is the first impression it presents to customers. The overall decoration of the restaurant is mainly simple and bright. The white wall with some wood grain decoration looks warm and clean under the orange light. The entire restaurant is open seating, from a table for two to a large table for a dozen people, all in front of the customers. When we arrived, it was the peak meal season and almost every seat was taken.
The cleanliness of the restaurant is the first feeling of the customer, but I have to say that this restaurant is doing very well. Every food in the restaurant has a fork for public tableware, because in China, especially in Guangzhou, they are more concerned about hygiene, so each dish will have public tableware. On the other hand, if you have a lot of food wreckage on your plate, they will come over and change it to you. The tea in the restaurant is also a pot of tea and a disposable tea bag at each table. You can choose tea according to your own taste, such as chrysanthemum tea, Tieguanyin, green tea and so on.
Their Service style is American. As the staff was not as friendly. The service was quite slow than regular. On the other side, the presentation of the food was clean and impressive. They really had an authentic taste of Chinese food.
Integration of Modern Food and Beverage
This restaurant is famous for Cantonese Cuisine including BBQ Pork and Roast Duck. The most famous cuisine from combo is Party Tray Combo. Additionally, all the Cantonese Cuisine are prepared by modern touch as their signature dishes are Shrimp dumplings and Steamed Pork Shao Mai with Fish Roe. Shrimp dumplings are made with steam which is considered as a healthy food with low calories as compared to fried food.
The restaurant also have food awareness in their menu that some of the dishes contain nuts. So, if you are allergic then inform the staff while giving the order.
Besides the venue and other features, food in this restaurant has many places to withdraw a healthy diet. It has some desserts made with sweet-scented Osmanthus, Chinese wolfberry and other ingredients. As these days more people are paying attention to their healthy diet, and the food of this restaurant can also be a part of sustainable development by maintaining the authentic taste of China and considering the healthy diet concern as well in their mind.
Secondly, the restaurant is very specific about the quantity served to reduce the wastage of food. They have set a certain standard to serve to minimize the wastage and allows them to pack and take away the food which they ordered for dine-in.
Food and beverage taste
Barbecue duck is one of the characteristics of their restaurant. It is characterized by the duck’s skin is crisp and perfectly blended with the soup. Guests can choose duck or pork. Usually, the meat of pork is more fat. When you bite it, the meat will be a bit more, but the duck meat needs to be slowly licked because the duck is mostly bone.
2. Stir-Fried Rice Noodle with Sliced Beef Meats
Stir-Fried Rice Noodle with Sliced Beef Meats is a very traditional dish in Cantonese style morning tea, usually composed of Niuhe noodles, bean sprouts, and beef. Niuhe noodle is not the same as the usual noodles, it is thicker and wider. If you feel that the taste is lighter, you can use the chili sauce with the waiter to accompany it.
3. Steamed Chicken feet
Chicken feet are our favorite dish because the meat and bones can be easily separated when you put it in your mouth, so you don’t need your hand to help it to the bone. Chicken feet and soup are combined. There is a layer of potato strips under the chicken feet. If you feel too tired to eat, you can use it to improve the taste.
4. Mango Gelatin
Mango Gelatin is a kind of frozen dessert, a bit like the texture of jelly, but it tastes more than jelly and has a richer mango and grassy taste. The restaurant is charged according to the block, they make it into a large piece, so guests can cut the size according to the size they can eat.

Most people are satisfied with this restaurant, seafood and some unique snacks are popular, but there is a lack of service. “You can’t go wrong with wonton noodle. I wanted wonton noodle and so came here. I ordered it to go and the wait was about 10 – 15 minutes on a weekday evening (before 6 pm). I decided on the tossed noodle. It came with a bowl of soup too. It was packed separately from the noodle, the sauce was also in a separate container. I liked that.” Carolyn L. wrote on Yelp. “As with our first visit, service was on the slow side.
